Are you wondering how God is asking you to serve Him in the next season of your lifecall? This course is for any Christian disciple who would like to join with others exploring this question.

To help you discover your Christian calling, this 8 week course will bring people like you together from across the diocese to journey together in exploring what it means to be called first as a disciple of Christ and then to locate where and how, as a disciple, God is calling you to serve.

Together we will explore who is called, why we’re called and how we can discern if it is God who is calling us. We root all that we do together in a commitment to pray, individually and for each other and to understand calling from what the Bible reveals to us.

We will explore our understanding of gifts, ministry, and the Church, learning from all of our experiences. We delve into mission, including a focus on serving in justice initiatives. We wrap all of this in a supported approach to guidance, including the opportunity for everyone to have a one to one conversation with one of our Vocational Coaches who will help you reflect on all that you have been experiencing, feeling and wondering about what God may be calling you to next.

Our sessions are led by a variety of different people, but you will be supported throughout the whole course by our Vocations Co-ordinator. All of our sessions begin with worship, then lively engaging input, followed by group discussion, application and prayer. Each week you will go away with further notes, suggestions of options to explore and a focus for your own prayer and reflection.

Those who have taken part in our Directions course over the last decade have gone on to step into exciting new journeys in their discipleship. The range of directions people have taken at the end of the course are as many as the people who have attended! There is no set outcome, just the possibility of discovering the confidence to step further into who God is calling you to be. We’re here to support you through your exploration.
